Will do, I've been working on un-hardcoding some dev stuff and getting it ready to be published for general use. I will post the update on this sub-lemmy when it's ready.

All hail Roko's Basilisk.

Bring about the upgrade to humanity!

As simple as what I'm about to suggest is, it is priceless.

This is an example when copy > paste. Copy the file content, perform the methods shared in this thread, then once you've verified that everything is running properly you can delete the original copy.

If it bunks and overwrites, no biggie, you planned for that.

I'd love to say that I'd never made the mistake of choosing CUT when I should have chosen COPY, but I guess sometimes we learn things the hard way. 💀

This is wonderful, I'm going to look at their implementations. That person certainly has the same goals as myself. This seems like a good chance to learn some C#. Whether I extend this person's project or continue with my own implementation, I will post my results here once they are ready to be made public. Any persons reading this is free to message me to ask about progress.

I rely on the same library actually, I'll check out that repo tmrw. It may be different than my project but I could use some inspiration so this is very relevant.

Thanks a lot.

I actually run nox as my primary client because my server is headless so this is certainly relevant. Well, sort of headless, I broadcast a vnc server then use mullvad to manage qbittorrent thru localhost:8080.

Or if I wanna manage it from a different computer, create a ssh route to the server from that computer, and well.. do the same thing as above.

The limitation was that I need to open a web browser for both of those scenarios, and I just want to do everything thru the terminal. I know, I'm weird. Ideally I'd love to have a fully featured CLI interface but for now just simple stuff.

Just don't wanna go reinventing the wheel. But if my project is original then I will continue to work on it and share it once it's a bit more polished. The community can always use more projects, right?

qbittorrent cli project (programming.dev)
submitted 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) by stembolts@programming.dev to c/piracy@lemmy.dbzer0.com

I've been working on a small project to remote control (via ssh mostly) my qbittorrent client. It's going well and I've already taken care of the basic functions I set out to create.

pause all
resume all
set default parameters to all torrents
sort priority to mirror dl_limit
shutdown client

Obviously I'll add more.

Thought I'd stop by and ask if anyone knows of a similar project. I'd be open to sharing the code but for now just the question.

I have an LG TV. Yes, the jellyfin client app is available in the LG store. You'll just need to install it and tell it to connect to "IP_OF_YOUR_JELLYFIN_SERVER:8096".

Alternatively, the Jellyfin server can broadcast as a DLNA server (in settings somewhere) and your TV's Jellyfin client may automatically detect the server in that case.

Speaking to your other question, I use a Sabrent hard drive bay with some 20TiB drives setup as raid 5 logical volumes. It's a good setup for me.

No. But you have reduced brain function.

The comment is stating that you treated it as a gotcha moment. Which I agree with.. I mean, just read your post again.

This is living proof that NOT ALL MEN COMMIT THESE ACTS!

Women are perfectly capable of doing the same damn things, they're just more sly about it and how often are guys going to complain when they get their dick wet or touched by a girl?

What the other commenter described is exactly what you did. Stating otherwise means you may need to pause and ask yourself, "Am I deluded?"

Or even better, just ignore us all and reassure yourself that we're all crazy. That probably feels the best, and we should always just go with what makes us feel good.

Anyway, just come back and check the vote tallies later if you have any doubt that what I say is the prevailing opinion.

And of course, if I'm wrong, I'm wrong. Sometimes I am wrong. Are you?

I Reached Plat 2 :) (programming.dev)
submitted 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) by stembolts@programming.dev to c/rocketleague@lemmy.world

In 2s and 3s, 1s I'm still gold 3 for unknown reasons. Guess I'm just not consistent enough yet. Sometimes I drop as low as silver 2 in 1s which I don't understand at all.. but I'm done being upset. It's such a fun game.

Nothing else really. I'm just very proud of my ability to adapt and improve beyond gold. Back when I initially bought the game in 2016, I used to rage at every loss and I'm sure my blood pressure was thru the roof. I'd forcibly uninstall the game at the end of every play session.. yeah, super unhealthy.

So I quit for a few years, came back in 2023 having been regularly meditating, and talking openly to those friends who would listen about my struggles, and I'd listen to theirs. I talked out so many rage issues and found that my anxiety and potential autism would cause me to release directionless rage at innocent bystanders.

I brought that to an end. I'm not sure how good I actually am, I still regularly dominate matches at plat 2 so who knows, the sky is the limit!

Final note, 1v1 is the only game mode where my rank drops massively. But I don't mind, they're slowly teaching me techniques as I get owned and I try to copy them. Thanks smurfs :)

I have a healthy relationship to my emotional state now, and this allows me to enjoy and improve in RL in a way I never thought possible.

I realize this post may be silly, but it makes me happy to share.

I love RL!!

So I was thinking of silly things I've done that pseudo-broke my system, or made me think I had a broken system. Like the time I put the cmd :

exit

in my ~/.bash_aliases file and I had to open a text editor to fix it because that broke all the terminals on my machine.

I'm curious what other silly things users have done to confuse themselves.

I found this Python script a few years ago, it is simple enough that a non-programmer could understand 90% of it. I just remembered it had been running as a scheduled task all this time when I thought I had lost some saves.

Thought I'd post it here in case anyone can use it. Minor things are hard coded but they are few and easy to edit.
