@Lowbird me as well! a good thing!
scabrous-leper
@bbplay13 yes, I miss the good parts as well...I used to be able to ask a question on how to repair something and get 20 solid responses in under an hour. There may be a corner of the fediverse that will fill a similar niche, but so far I haven't found it. I spend most of my time over on Mastodon.social , now, which seems to have more traffic, and maybe more niches. We'll see. I'm certainly NOT going back to reddit, but I do indeed wish it hadn't gone so pear-shaped, so quickly.
@Aatube That is really proof that we are living in social media-induced end times. I'm going to go and eat a little cyanide now...
@SamXavia I have accounts on lemmy, kbin and Mastodon.social, and I've pretty much settled on the masto. Maybe because I never was a twitter user, it is a slightly novel format for me. Anyway, there are plenty of humans there, so lots to share and engage with...
@yunggwailo That's good to hear. I nuked my accounts and haven't been back to that particular dumpster fire.
@weremacaque it sounds flippant but seriously: The USA. I find this current view of my home country to be unrecognizably insane...we played outside, we drank and smoked early and generally got along. I grew up in an integrated neighborhood, integrated public school...
@inkican Agreed. If we post it they will come...The good/bad thing is that we few have a responsibility to start the avalanche of posts...So I've been super-active on my lemmy instance, and here to an extent, toward that expicit end.
@ryan Yes, I posted daily, really enjoyed my interactions with various sub-groups of humanity, and now...I set up an outpost , a reddit lurker account, but generate zero traffic. no pics no text... I imagine that mine was a fairly common response...
