Poland’s opposition Law and Justice (PiS) party has condemned a court ruling overturning the granting of a terrestrial broadcasting licence to two conservative TV news stations. Its leader, Jarosław Kaczyński, says that the decision is further proof of how the government is “destroying democracy”.

However, he provided no evidence of government influence on the court’s decision. The ruling is also almost certain to be appealed, meaning the case could drag on for years, during which time the stations can continue using the licences they were granted.

It is going up. But why?

No much traffic here from like 1-3 days.
So, is Nicole still active?

Also, Matrix room is gone.

Summary

Poland is facing accusations of widespread human rights abuses at its Belarus border, including violent pushbacks of migrants who are later subjected to torture by Belarusian forces.

Despite these allegations, the EU allocated €52 million to Poland for border enforcement. Prime Minister Donald Tusk has maintained harsh migration policies, refusing to implement the EU Migration Pact requirements.

Rights groups warn that Brussels' reluctance to confront Poland sets a dangerous precedent, with Oxfam stating: "The EU must stop bankrolling this pushback policy."

Story from (soon ex-)redditor shoizzipseller:

anyone know what this is?
She randomly joins voice chats in a discord server i'm in, turns on her cam with a prerecorded video and just does that for hours, no interaction. Did some digging on her, found her username on another site saying you can call her the "Fediverse" girl, don't quite know what that is but I also saw in Lemmy that it was a scam, however it's just weird to me since this account is on discord 😭 anyone got an idea on who she is?

Poland has launched a campaign, titled “We Did It In Poland”, to promote awareness of Polish achievements in science and business, in particular among young Poles. One of the motivations behind the initiative was a recent poll showing 20% of Poles feel ashamed of their country, up from 14% in 2010.

“Pride in their country is felt mainly by representatives of the oldest generation, the so-called baby boomers,” says Olga Kozierowska, head of the Włączeni Plus foundation, which is running the campaign under the patronage of Poland’s current six-month presidency of the Council of the European Union.

“The Gen Zs [those born between around 1997 and 2012], on whom the shaping of Poland’s image in the coming years will depend to the greatest extent, are the most likely of all generations to feel shame,” she added.
