I hate meta and honestly don't think Threads will bring anything new that other fedi software already has. I'm also quite happy with all the software available so don't see a reason to use Threads. I am curious to see if people who previously didn't use the fediverse or found it too confusing etc will like Threads.

It really is one by one the large social media companies make bad decisions and there's a huge migration to a nicer fediverse alternative. I guess the positive side to YouTube doing this is that Peertube will have more people + content

I like Kbin's UI and feel more than Lemmy's though I haven't used either for very long

There's goldfish.social but it's still heavily in development and I'm not even sure if it's federated yet 😅 it's just the closest I know of (haven't used it so don't know how operational it is)

I tried out Lemmy for a couple days after the Reddit drama started, just decided to try out kbin instead and think it's pretty great. I'm very happy to stop using Reddit :)
