Meanwhile, the Purple I got 9 years ago is still giving me my best sleep ever

Just ignore him. He isn't in charge of DOGE, right GOP?

Edit: what the fuck power does DOGE have anyway? The president doesn't have the right to unilaterally create a random department without a congressional vote.

It's a joke. She is telling this person not to gatekeep scholarly articles for some mundane reason

Why is the president of the United States embracing Putin a dividing factor?

It's like, either you have a dictator, or you have freedom. You can't have both

This is by design. He's going to force the farmers to sell to his corporate lobbyists.

Nowhere in the cobol spec because cobol doesn't even have a date type. It's more of a legacy solution to a nearly 100 year old problem.

Yeah, Ed. Please prove he's a "public worker", because that would also prove that he is indeed the kingpin of DOGE, since otherwise he'd be private sector only.

Last I checked, the GOP is trying to gaslight us into thinking he somehow isn't the head of DOGE, so you'd be doing us a solid.

And, look, I'm not a hedge analyst or an economist, but even I can see that the comedown from the tariffs is going to have a huge negative impact on the stock market.

So, genuine question here, if this recession comes along with the stock market dip, will that cause a spiral that leads to another great depression?

I remember when judges at least pretended to be impartial.

16% of Republicans

These are the remnants of the party of law and order and small government.

Can't complain about a swamp if you live in one.

It looks like each instance wants an instance-specific login, but my federated account is searchable, so I should be able to link it. Problem is, I can't figure out how.

Help me, programming.dev

Hey all, I made a Firefox extension (signed by Mozilla) specifically to add Show/Hide Child Comments functionality similar to how RES had it (where the parent comment is still visible).

It's not very useful, but I could use some feedback on tightening up the Javascript. I'm not a JS beginner, but I know I can do better, so any tips are welcome!

EDIT: Also, if anyone has any suggestions for the extension, I'm open to those as well.

Installed yesterday and immediately went ad-free. It's such a beautiful app.

Anyway, question is in the title.

  1. Thoughts are energy.
  2. Einstein proved that energy is mass.
  3. Expend mass every time you think about stuff in the shower.

I'm new myself but took the time to learn the platform. I'm not sure other people will have as much of an interest, so I'm just wondering if it would be a good idea for some of the old hat people to post some tips for people coming over from reddit.
