I'm very new to docker. (Debian server) Have a few simple things running locally. Using tailscale outside of lan. How do I deploy this using Dockge? I've tried the compose files in Dockge. I tried the 'run' in docker... Keep getting "bad request". Something about adding my server address to the host file.. I got paperless ngx, Stirling PDF, and mealie going pretty easily by copy/paste from their installation pages.

Made this last night. My first time using gochujang and I very rarely use fish sauce. Had company over. The meal was awesome. Everyone loved it. This one is a keeper. Thanks for sharing it.

I was going through a box of old computer junk and found an original Halo DVD. I dug out an ancient Windows laptop and the damn thing booted up. So I installed Halo ran through the single player version and a couple days later could not believe that there were still servers online. There weren't many to choose from so I picked anything and I couldn't believe that the same shit is going on now as it was all those years ago. Everyone glitching swearing throwing around racial slurs and talking shit about everybody's mother. At first I laughed and then I realized how fucking sad it is. Snapped the DVD in half, smashed the laptop, and went to sleep.

I have NEVER accomplished this. They're either lost or ran through the dryer to destroy a load of clothes.

Wow. Very cool. I see no graffiti. No garbage. No police call-boxes. Is it used by the public do people not suck where this is?

Sounds interesting. Maybe perfect for my use case. I'll look into it today. Thanks for taking the time to mention it.

Looks nice. Making me want to re-season a pizza steel I've been neglecting.

Ok, good advice.. I'll look at the newest full size pi. I have a 10 yr old mini PC in a closet somewhere. Maybe I'll pull that out, and do some testing before I get the pi. Thanks for responding.

tldr;

i need an always on, always connected music player that connects to Bluetooth speakers.. without a battery

I have built-in bt speakers in some bedroom furniture. they have a remote that controls volume, play, and pause. they're really meant to connect to an 'always-on' device like a tv. when i connect my phone, they loudly exclaim "bluetooth connected", and "bluetooth disconnected" when the phone bt is turned off or if the phone leaves the area. i like to fall asleep to some relaxing stuff and when i leave in the morning, it of course, wakes up my wife. no good. i've been using a tiny, old android phone (kitkat), always on, always connected. i have a playlist of 50 things that are played randomly and in an infinite loop, but turns off with a timer set from the remote. the remote works well. but, i don't like have a charging battery next to the bed all day and night. AND, i'm not thrilled about the old ass phone that i can't really do anything with.

so, i'm totally overwhelmed with options. i've been looking at all kinds of things that just don't 'do it'. i have been using pi(s) for years (easy stuff, like pihole, basic lan based server with docker, other small projects) , but this is a new uncharted category for me.

  • 1 anyone know if the remote ( pause and play ) will work with the bt on a pi? it works with a phone. i believe it even worked with my pc.
  • 2 what are some apps that will fit this scenario? it would be cool to have maybe web access to the player
  • 3 what pi would work best? music only. seems like a pie zero 2 w would work.
  • 4 are there any kits? anything ready built? <-- would love this option

thanks for reading

So I have some "built in" Bluetooth speakers in a piece of furniture. No other inputs are available, just Bluetooth. I'm trying to find an AC or USB powered MP3/audio player that can transmit via Bluetooth to these speakers. I don't care if it has built in memory or if I need to plug in a flash drive out SD card. I don't want it to have a battery because it will always be in one spot and always on. I only need to be able to pause/play from the speaker remote. I've been using a garbage flip phone that I CAN mod and power from USB, but I'd like a cleaner solution. I don't want to use a phone. I don't want to hack something together. I'm having a hell of a time finding something. Probably 10 hours over 2 weeks. I'm drained. Does anyone have an idea?

I installed Cosmic on my current system following steps here.. https://github.com/pop-os/cosmic-epoch?tab=readme-ov-file#installing-on-pop_os BUT, I was reading somewhere else also, and that post said to not enable the Cosmic login screen, because it was buggy. So I didn't. I CAN NOT find that post, and i can't figure out what the *(!@&^%# I did. I want to know HOW to enable the Cosmic login screen. I believe I edited some config file.. don't know what... HELP please.

Thanks!

Anyone have experience and an opinion on a solid wireless dongle brand? I'm leaning towards the Motorola one just because of the name and decent reviews.
