I'm an xennial demi woman and we didn't even have the term "demisexual" when you and I were young. Trying to explain to my bigoted mother that I'm not attracted to a meat suit, and can't define what I'm attracted to, while having a girlfriend was... awful!
I'm an ADHD person and I had this exact same realization when I was younger.
I think maybe this isn't something neurotypicals ever figure out? Because they seem to be accepting of those "jokes" and it blows my mind.
My main problem with them is that they were on a federal goddamned holiday.
Everyone met at empty state capitols to protest, in a way that would inconvenience and send a message to literally none of the people who should be receiving it.
