"Actual journalism" what does that even mean? Youtube IS a medium of communication that legitimate news outlets and journalist depend on to talk about various aspects of life.

A bit stupid to say such things because people remember that BJP is doing bad in terms of communal peace.

Its quite dishonest how kicking out of imperial colonist nations like France is described only as reducing their role in fighting against Islamist Insurgencies. However EU countries, especially france, is shoving centuries of colonial oppression under the rug. Did Islamist extremism spring out of nowhere? Do people expect centuries of colonization and plundering of natural resources to lead to well adjusted progressive populace in these countries?

You seem dense and can't think of any way a person can suddenly require large sum of money (medical emergency, burglary, etc.) Can you? You think nothing ever goes wrong with you... so it must be the same with everyone?

I don't trust stanford to not work on behalf of the CIA or other 3 alphabet orgs. They kind of turn a blind eye to CSA in churches but a federated media? This sounds like a smear job.

You make good point. Even if many people go back to reddit post blackout it still is a win. I think even if lemmy's traffic drops down to "pre-API debacle" levels, there's a key difference between then and now namey that people now know lemmy exists. They are not beholden to reddit. I think reddit, inc would be more careful about pissing off their users now that lemmy jas gotten a significant mindshare.
