This works frighteningly well - guess I know what I'll be listening to as I play msfs today!

Flying from YGLA -> YWIS in FSEconomy

[–] erasariel@lemmyfly.org 2 points 2 years ago

Yes, flying with a group is really fun - in fact, the community is the reason I stuck with FSEconomy despite its age and it being run by a bunch of dinosaurs who really, really dislike change. Despite it being less flashy and having less features than Neofly or other career MMOs, there's so many ways to interact with the community that other addons simply do not. There's cottage industries for financing or leasing planes, airport modding, livery creation etc that I simply cannot find anywhere else.

And yes, AUSPAC Air is always open. Search for the group on the FSE Forums or Discord if you ever decide to give FSE a try!

CYYQ -> CYRT for JM Charter in FSEconomy

Vouch for PNG. I fly with a group in FSEconomy that has operations around PNG, the Solomons, and New Caledonia (shoutout to AUSPAC Air) and it's such a fantastic place to fly. Incredible terrain and challenging bush flight conditions with scenery to boot. Even the hard surface RNP airports are rough; I had to land a Longitude on AYMR at zero visibility and boy, was that a trip. Offset approach right down a narrow valley is gonna be hard to beat on my shelf of "most exciting approaches" for sure.

Hi! I'm one of those weirdos who went into flightsim to play career addons or MMOs like FSEconomy, FSCharter, what have you. I'm currently in FSEconomy after trying out Aviatife and FSCharter, and see myself staying there thanks to the good communities I've found myself in. With FSE I am able to fly in all sorts of places, from a dirt strip in Chicken, Alaska to flying VIPs on bizjets out of Guam for a group to cruising along the Ethiopian, Eritrean, and Saudi coasts as I have an FBO network there.

As for the flying itself, I'm pretty casual although I do stick to flying in cockpit and can fumble my way through checklists and operating the ProLine FMS seen on the CJ4. That said, I live for just setting the plane to cruise in AP and looking out the cockpit, a passenger window, or just relishing the view in external mode while I do my IRL work at home on another monitor. I don't use ATC though I've dabbled in Pilot2ATC for a bit and know the most basic of phraseology - I just set my SIDs, STARs, and approaches and pretend I got cleared for all that, lol.

I play on MSFS. As for planes, my favorites include the Vision Jet, the Big Radials Goose, Duckworks DC-3, PZL Wilga, Tecnam P2006T, and many more. Variety is the spice of life and I rarely get to just fly one model in one flying session!

I think I remember reading on their Discord and on the MSFS forums that FlightFX does not intend on making the VJet and HJet available elsewhere, which is a shame. I also wanted to get it outside of Marketplace but I caved after seeing it on sale a few months back.

It's a fantastic addon and got so much better with the update to its G3000 FMS. Navigraph and Simbrief integration make flight planning a breeze and you can even automate visual approaches now, very useful in the regions I fly this jet because even the bigger international airports lack instrument approaches. The view from the cockpit is unparalleled and the EFB is packed with extras and goodies.

Hi! My first post after jumping ship from that R site. Hope to stick around! HHMS -> OYHD on MSFS, flying in FSEconomy
