That’s a panda. And it’s small. Like real small. It is small for an Italian car. It won’t do well in the US.

Your instance will get content only after you subscribe and won’t pull old content.

You should start seeing content in a couple of days after you subscribe.

It’s pretty simple.

  1. Lemmy is a collection of topic-based communities.
  2. People share what they find interesting to the appropriate community.
  3. People who subscribe to the community vote up posts that are on topic and vote down posts that aren’t. They can also leave a comment to discuss the submission.
  4. Posts are sorted by votes/comments so that people see popular ones.

Have fun and participate as much or as little as you want.

No. lemmy.world is either under heavy load or being updated to 0.18 (there was a post about it). As soon as the server comes back up, it should go back to normal.
