Right wingers think that calling right wingers Nazis is a meme/joke that no one takes seriously except indoctrinated zombies. Same with the Russian collusion thing. Republicans see themselves as heroes and probably AfD the same, although most US Republicans probably don't even know what AfD is.

Ohio voters recently passed a constitutional amendment guaranteeing abortion rights, so writing that bill here is certainly mostly a signal to national politics.

Also, I had a vasectomy, so would I still be able to wank away under the proposed bill? lol

The article looked at five years, and even their numbers show most of the job growth going to non-native born citizens. If you look only at 2024, barely any jobs we're created and all of them went to non native born, native citizens actually lost a few jobs last year.

That isn't really a problem on it's own, but it has allowed large corporations to avoid increasing wages, even while everyone is experiencing tough inflation. We need strong living wage legislation and then the foreign born workers will no longer be contributing to wage suppression here.

Some of those things I could see a pattern as described. The exception for me is public transportation. It exists in urban areas with high diversity. But it doesn't exist in the suburbs which are much more white. The rich suburbs, it doesn't matter as everyone is driving a new Audi or whatever. But the poorer white suburbs are really a terrible place to live, you can't go anywhere without a car, and most jobs don't pay wages that accommodate housing, food and car expenses anymore. The cost increases have way outpaced wages. I know that affects urban life too, but at least they have access to buses etc.

I never pay for extras, and my financial stability is what you would expect from someone giving that answer. But I do like guac, so if I'm feeling the call for some avocado I order a veggie. You lose the meat but the guacamole goodness is included.

As an anti-aurhoritarian I've been of the opinion that that we've been an authoritarian hell hole for pretty much all of my life. Yes Trump is a fascist but the government is also heavy-handed when Democrats are in power. If you're encouraged that almost half of the votes went to authoritarian Harris, I'd say you shouldn't be. She wasn't a leftist, honestly I think of her as a little bit fascist too, just less ironically puritan.

On the contrary, in my experience there are no sidewalks or bicycle lanes or shoulders on the road. So what might be a terrible goal in relatively alternative-transportation-friendly spaces could also be a massive step up for other locations.

First amendment protections for speech expressing our grievances against our government are very well established. I think even this Supreme court will agree. We'll see, but this is basic free speech. There are people who are against free speech or waver depending on the kind of speech. I'm all for free speech, even what some would call hate speech. I'm an advocate, and I know the law and precedents. I don't think this has any legs.

The last thing the working classes of the world needs is for the owner class to have a monopoly on violence.

I'll dance in a warm rain. When it's just above freezing I'll pass. I will dance in the snow though too.
