Cool thanks, I’m going to switch my business email next year sometime after I use up my business cards so I will check it out. Someone posted a great link with overviews of the different European email providers that was helpful.

I ended up going with Mailfence and set it up yesterday. It looks pretty simple and straightforward. Proton was another good option but I liked that Mailfence uses sustainable energy for its servers. I decided anything would be better than Microsoft or Google so it’s nice to see more options available.

Thank you for your reply.

I’m replying to my own post but I thought I would share a review that was very thorough and helpful. It compares Proton and Mailfence. I didn’t understand all the technical stuff but I understood enough.

Has anyone used Mailfence for email?

Does Tuta use POP for its email service then?

I have personal and business needs (I’m an entrepreneur in the construction industry).

I am just starting out and trying to keep operational costs down. Proton has a free option and then some pay plans as well so it could work.

Some say they are carbon neutral with their servers which I also like since they all take electricity to run.

Thank you for your questions to my questions, probably there will be more questions

Thanks for your reply Durandal, this will definitely help is deciding.

I was setting up some other apps and my Apple ID is still stuck with my ancient Hotmail address so was looking to tidy up things.

I will continue my research, thanks

I see your point. Thank you for your well worded explanation.

My personal view is not to see religious or secular but that we are all dealing with the same thing.

I enjoy CS Lewis’s discussions on universal morality as he was someone who was an atheist who later professed faith in Jesus Christ.

Thank you for your reply and I think you are in the same headspace as I am on this topic. I will check out the links you posted. A side note: what is the difference between ethics and morals?

Ok, thank you, I’m still getting used to the buttons on here

Great thanks, I will check it out.

All of the info on AI development seems to be hush hush so I am very curious what it is going on with developing AI.

I remember a couple years ago there were calls to cease AI development with concerns about world safety and then the commercial media outlets sort of stopped talking about it.

Has anyone attempted to build moral principles into an AI model?

I was thinking about Adam Smith the other day. He is considered the father of modern economics. Many of his philosophies focus on division of labour and free and open trade. He is also credited with establishing many core ideas included in Capitalism which some view as pure evil and others view as good for everyone.

A few questions:

  1. Does capitalism tend to gravitate towards fascist ideologies?
  2. Is a system that generates wealth intrinsically bad?
  3. Who should oversee the equal distribution of wealth in a society? Who decides what is fair?
  4. Adam Smith, Economist, Capitalist, or Fascist or all of the above?

Hopefully I have phrased things clearly. I realize I’m covering quite a few different topics. I have been recently studying philosophies of fascism to better understand the main ideas they promote.

I know this is a children’s book but I bought it for me. It seemed very relevant to our present situation.
