This seems like a great adventure! I watched his video talking about it while making dinner tonight. Then I watched it again. I think I'm going to borrow heavily from it and create a D&D centric version.

I worry about that one because I think everyone has played it :-) but that said, totally agree. Excellent adventure.

Great advice, thanks catloaf.

Yeah 5e is good strictly because I know it best. Though we are trying the 2024 mutant. I'll look at the kings heist, thank you for the response!

I do want. That sounds awesome.

I have a large group (7 players) that I play with on the regular. My saint of a DM though needs a break to which I am happy to oblige with a one-shot or two. I'm looking for a one-shot that would be fun for them at level 5+. We're all experienced players with decent to great table etiquette so the table size only concerns me as far as difficulty is concerned. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I wonder if I can find it. Basically I need cheese for burritos or worse quesadillas. Daiya has a real chemical after taste that just rubs me all the wrong ways.

[–] cosmosparda@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

What do you make your own cheese with? Cashews?

Man I cannot stand daiya. I really want their product to be good but each time I try it it tastes horrible. How can cheese be so far behind meat in plant based alternatives?

Rereading the post I see how you can think that. I am not generally inflexible on these dates and am willing to cancel if it's important. I make that clear and have definitely missed more than a few for vacations. Vacations take priority, in that we agree. She does try her best to avoid game days as she knows it's important to me.

Vacations are also easier as they are known well in advance. More of the frustration comes, I think, when a one off event happens. For example on Monday, we got invited to a Christmas party for this weekend. This is also a D&D weekend thus conflict.

Yeah moving it off of Saturday seems to be a good idea. I just don't know how the group is going to take to that. Worth asking though.

I love D&D and have an on-going game that occurs twice a month on the first and third Saturday evenings of the month. The game has been going for a little over two years and I love it so much.

I am a father and husband too. Unfortunately, my wife is frustrated with having those Saturdays taken up on the schedule where she has to schedule things around them or go without me (vacations, family outings, etc). Admittedly she has done well at scheduling and should be given credit for her tolerance thus far.

Those of you who are successfully managing family schedules and gaming, what is your secret?

I have played for years on the PS VR and now the PS VR2 but I've never been able to bridge the gap from expert to expert+. I can somewhat reliably get an A or S in expert and if I play online I'm usually the surgeon I think it is, denoting accuracy. Any advice?
