Insert an asterisk there.

I guarantee you, they'll go Bluesky if Twitter gets banned.

I mean, we all know how the lemmy devs are. So yeah, not surprised. We might need an alternative after all.

Well, what can you even ask other than what join-lemmy.org already asks?

Just select the first instance that shows up then.

Basically the join-lemmy.org list but it selects one instance randomly depending on user's input/preferences?

Then with the parameters already set: https://join-lemmy.org/instances?topic=all_topics&language=en&scroll=true

The thing is, they most likely will register at that instance you give them. So the burden of changing the instance once it gets too big is yours. Let's say sopuli.xyz becomes too big at some point, you'd have to manually change all your recommendations to sopuli.xyz or have the admins there disable registrations, and at that point the user most likely won't care and go back. The official join lemmy website is the better option in the long run.

There is no karma counter builtin, but it is also not something hard to implement. But I remember an chromium/firefox extension displaying it. "Karma" in Lemmy can be calculated manually though.

Basically what https://join-lemmy.org/ does by default

[–] asudox@lemmy.asudox.dev 3 points 4 days ago (10 children)

I mean, select "Join a Server", select "General", then select "English". Explore one instance that is listed.

The newbies should at least know what a instance is, don't you agree?

I think redirecting to https://join-lemmy.org/ is the best option.

when does it end

I often find myself reading something on the bus or subway, but then not understand anything I read. This seems to be because of the constant noises. Not even instrumental music helps, as that distracts me as well and also does not always match the theme of the book.

The best working one in noisy places seems to be white noise, with complete silence being the best overall. How do yall handle such situations?

Is it still possible to interact with the communities (post, vote, etc.)? If yes, is it still possible to delete them if the ownership of the community (aka the top mod) belongs to an user from another instance?

What keeps you away from PeerTube? What features does PeerTube lack? If you were the developer of PeerTube, how would you improve it?
