Crypto vs houses also has the problem that the former is hard to reposses. So not great to base a financial system, where people will default/be scammers/etc on. But of course they consider this a pro not a con. As they are often "im mad gov spend some money (muh taxus!!!1!!) on stuff I disagree with" types. So hoarding would be worse but now in crypto. And there is no reason why speculation in cryptoshit and real estate cant exist both at the same time, like now in reality. Gold didnt fix housing, so why would bitcoin. But yeah, think they are the common clay of the new west.

FT misreading financial statements is quite embarrassing, i mean I dont mind Zilton having a bit trouble with them, even of it isnt great. But FT? Oof. (Not 100% sure they dont mean percentage points btw (as I didnt read the docs), but ft should have caught the ambiguity)
Considering the animosity between stem (a real strong field, based on science, rules, math, for men!!1!!one!!) and humanities (the opposite, etc) this is a bit amusing. And sad.
Sorry cant really help, but perhaps showing a case where the llms fuck up in a way only expects caught on might be useful. Just mentioning the lawyers getting fucked over in casual conversation might help. For example heard about a contract negotiations case where the other side used a llm, and it had included a clause that was very unfavourable to them, of course the person telling this story was fine with that clause.

I agree btw, it will be a big rep damage like how NFTs damaged the idea of cryptocurrencies, and in the same note you saw how a lot of pro-cryptocurrency people disliked NFTs just because they saw this backlash (and the more naked grift of NFTs) coming.
On a related note, they (right wing govs i mean) are now quoting Singal to go after trans people. So 'good' times for the polite 'centist/grey/gray' debate bros with 'concerns'.
But like the rightwinger influencers who go 'wow a lot of people in this space are grifters' I expect none of them to change their mind and admit they fucked up, and apologize. (And I mean properly apologize here, aka changing, attempting to fix harms, and even naming names).
Not really related but perhaps entertaining titbit, in the metro 2033 video game series they use high quality ammo as currency. Cant recall if this also happened in the book.
