Red is the traditional color of painted wooden structures pretty much everywhere, think of Chinese temples for example. Black tar is another common one. Cave paintings typically used red too.

Good, with a caveat. Being a liberal, the writer has had to coin a novel term, "technofeudalism" (bad) to oppose it to "capitalism" (good).
We, of course, understand that all this "digital arm-breaking" is just monopoly capitalism, which is just natural evolution of the capitalist system, not an aberration.
As a Nordic person, let me say that nobody here thinks our system ever was "socialist". Welfare state, yes, social democratic, yes, but no socialism. I don't know who came up with the idea.
Besides, even the social democratic welfare state has been stripped down by neoliberal reforms since the 90s and is a shadow of what it used to be. The rhetoric is always the same: we can't afford this, we can't afford that, we have to privatize, we have to make cuts to save our welfare state, there's no alternative etc.
Can't believe nobody mentioned Nuclear Death. One of the sickest most primitively brutal Death Metal bands. In the same league with Autopsy, in my book. Mental artwork too.
