Originally socialist and succdem were synonymous.
The real answer is that Lithuania and the Baltic states are racist and have sizable Russian and Belorussian minorities. They think that if enough economic refugees and draft dodgers immigrate, in twenty years they’ll demand civil and linguistic rights, which would be destabilizing.

Seems like Maduro is trying to prevent evangelicals from becoming an American proxy like they always do. It’d be interesting to have gay Cubans research the issue seeing how far the island has come.
