I think he has a budget problem mostly. He has executed some games acceptably, but mostly when the teams were smaller and cheaper. He is an ideas guy you want to pair with an experienced implementer and a pile of money..... And maybe a PR team 😆

There was something said (maybe by a youtuber?) about upgrades merging with your town centre or something on a new era (because so much is specific to a single era). Almost like playing 3 games on the same map.

It also implies that tech disparities will be reset twice a game....not sure if that is good or bad.

TIL about unbundled RECs. More questions to ask my companies sustainability team 😈

Also a possibility of a humankind style neolithic era?

But yes, expecting some required DLC unfortunately.

But civ is a patient gamer staple - just wait for 8 to come out and 7's dlcs will be cheap! 🤣

Interested how the map expansion will work in multiplayer.

Concerned about the era resets.

I like what they appear to have taken from humankind (eras, leader swaps, outposts/yowns, map elevation?) and old world (tile improvements culture bomb)

Also concerned about how the maps seemed to just be cities, no gradual domestication of the world with farms, mines etc.

I would bet that there will be a new space age era added on as a DLC

The ages concern me most though - what progress carries across? Are you going to be going full land grab because your infrastructure resets etc?

Is it censorship, or stopping (actual) fake news and lies because Musk fired Twitters moderation team?

(I don't actually know)

Still not showing anything from Lemmy right? I guess upvotes don't convert to boosts? I tried favouriting the post, does that make it show?

Give them a different psychoactive drug I guess... Not really a true placebo though.

I believe SLA parts also require drain holes for the resin on the inside of the part to drain out through?

I suspect the adventures that come with it will have a degree of spoilery-ness, but its definitely an extremely interesting set of world settings (particularly Stormlight/Roshar) if you wanted to use it in a campaign using a different system.

I would obviously recommend reading the books, the first couple of Stormlight books are awesome if your fine with a slow start. Unfortunately I think the second Mistborn book is considered the weakest of the series, still good though!

For non UK people, Alan Titchmarsh is basically only known for various gardening shows.

The title got a double take from me, so hopefully it's valid to post here.

It looks like the website is being crushed to death by all of us currently though =/

Everyone might already know this, but it was news to me! I'm going to miss the first race ☹️

Men accused of pushing cyclists into ditches for fun go on trial in France

Two defendants could face up to five years in prison after spate of incidents in country’s rural south-west

Two men accused of driving up to cyclists in rural south-west France and pushing them into ditches for fun have gone on trial in Toulouse for organised violence and could face up to five years in prison.

The two men, aged 20 and 22, were arrested last year after a spate of cyclists being pushed off their bikes on quiet country roads. One victim told the newspaper La Dépêche: “It was April … I’d gone out on my bike for the afternoon. When I got to a little country road … I felt a car was following me silently. It was driving very slowly behind me when it could easily have overtaken me. Then after a few minutes it drove up beside me. The car’s passenger suddenly pushed me down.”

Another man described being on a weekend cycle ride with two friends when a car pulled up beside him and the passenger allegedly reached out a hand and pushed him into a ditch.

At least 12 cyclists were hit over a period of several months, some sustaining injuries including a wrist fracture and a collar-bone fracture.
