This was literally a gag in This Hour Has 22 Minutes https://youtu.be/oYUI4hu950w

You're supposed to say "Not much, you?" which deflects the conversation back to them.

And fear. If you get someone to build up enough fear for everything but you then they feel irresponsible not to vote for you. We, the users of a decentralized Linux forum, are not the type of people to fall into this mindset

I mean it's not that complicated. Most people struggle, often financially. You have someone promising the world. You have someone who blames the former establishment for your problems and offers simple easy to digest solutions for problems that are much more complicated. All of this is going to sound compelling and frankly he had a number of easy lay ups this electrician race. Honestly the Democrats botched this whole race. It was half Biden who nobody saw as fit and Kamela came in too late, had the weight of any one displeased with Biden's tenure and let's face it, was both black and a women, two thighs the US has a historically mixed run with.

Obviously this is a platform of lies but that's all you need to get in.

Exactly. This is the result of human interference, AI inherently doesn't have this level of censorship built in, they have to be censored after the fact. Like imagine a Lemmy admin went nuts and started censoring everything on their instance and your response is all fediverse is bad despite having the ability to host it yourself without that admin control (like AI).

AI definitely has issues but don't make it a scapegoat when we should be calling out there people who are actively working in nefarious ways.

You have to remember 2010 was a much different time. Facebook was still relatively fun and cool. Social media hadn't completely destroyed the fabric of our society yet, it's was still mostly a novelty and most people didn't really know Mark Zuckerberg at all beyond being the guy who made Facebook. Then you have David Fincher who's one of the most sought-after directors pairing with one of Hollywood's top writers. Every actor would jump at this opportunity.

Like we knew Mark was a weasely little shit but the problems were mostly contained to the sphere of influence that was a still growing Facebook. The world and political landscape has been completely turned upside down in the preceding 15 years. Mark is a much more dangerous person now than he was then.

Curious what you're doing with the sound card. I had one for a while but with HDMI passing a digital connection I haven't really found a use for it anymore.

Check out the app Yuka for a good inspirational basis. I think in particular one feature this really needs is the ability to scan a barcode. Typing them out at the grocery store is likely a non starter for most people. Great idea though and would love to see this catch on

Those are some grim coffee options. If your store carries jumping bean (mine does) they're from Newfoundland. There's some good rosters you can buy online like Detour. Of course if you're in a city like Vancouver Montreal or Toronto you have endless local rosters but even smaller towns will usually have one or two good ones.

I have two accounts in the app. One of them, if I go to Settings > General has "Drawer Navigation" and "Bottom Navigation"

My other account doesn't have these options at all.

I don't remember the exact location, we were on holiday in Rome. We were on our way to a restaurant called "I Porchettoni" after seeing it on Anthony Bourdain. Looks like the restaurant is rebranded to Trattori Pigneto. It's not far from here but I can't seem to find the exact street: https://maps.app.goo.gl/zaPqW2RCHkv8GYyE6

Don't know the guy, just thought his jacket would look cool in a picture with the bricks and graffiti

Basically as the title says. We have semi frequent power outages where I live. The noise machine in my daughter's room goes out and wakes her up. If I were to buy a USB powered one, plug it into a power bank like one of those 10000ma ones you get for charging cell phones, would it have continuous power. Basically like a cheap UPS

We were traveling through Malta in 2018 when I came across this. According to the locals it had crashed up on shore about a month prior. They didn't know what to do so they tied it off until they could come up with a solution. My personal favorite of the photos I took. The two guys below were exploring the ship. Thought it would ruin the shot but it ended up adding some good scale.
