Ironic because bi is the largest queer demographic but also the one that can blend in the easiest which hasn’t forced people to advocate for acceptance.

I think it’s a cool feature. Newest version of Lemmy allows admins to block communities from appearing in all while still allowing subscriptions. I think this is the best approach, although it would be nice if this could be done in a more automated fashion instead of admins having to expand the list as more rss feeds are added.

Outsider as well but it’s definitely bad. Will wait for others to provide more detail.

Not really comparable since the whole US government is complicit.

Hand pollination would not be economically viable in California because of the prevailing wages. Almond production there is extremely automated and uses very little labor as is, so adding an incredibly labor intensive pollination method would hugely increase prices so as to be non-competitive with other producing regions.

Other bee species might be able to pollinate but there isn’t a consistent model around ensuring they visit the trees the way we have with honey bees. This probably should be developed but it could take years of research if it hasn’t already been formulated.

None of these really prove they’re a tankie though. Most of these are saying they’re not. Seems dubious.

Won’t they just ignore emails from non-.gov addresses?

I’m guessing they’re just not aware of construction impacts on trees. It’s not something most people think about.

No, it’s real. For some Nazis the Jews are the ultimate enemy and they have cynically attempted to graft themselves to the Palestinian liberation movement as a recruitment tool. They obviously don’t give a shit about Palestinians but if they can weaponize Israeli war crimes to foster anti-semitism they can recruit more people into their movement.

It’s similar to how some far-right extremists participated in the George Floyd protests—both because they’re anti-cop and they wanted to start a race war.

Why is posting a lot of content considered spam though? Don’t we want more content? Is there something wrong with the content being posted?

Hope this is on topic enough. Nice job to Angelenos for standing up to these bullies and defending our transit projects.

Yeah I immediately realized after posting this that I had even seen this video before. But it was lost deep in the memory banks.

I had no idea doge was connected to HSR though. How do Nazis always end up ruining wholesome internet art?

Wait doge came from Homestar? How did I not know this?

Certain trees survived, according to Cal Fire, because they have a natural adaptation to withstand fire, such as thick bark, a shape that sheds embers and higher moisture content than the structures that caught fire. “While trees may still be singed, they are often less flammable than structures,” according to the post.

Would like to see this model across the whole world! Local people are the backbone of any truly sustainable conservation plan.

Walking? For 20 minutes? My father did not make all this money for me to be forced to mingle with you commoners

Candy caps (Lactatius rubidus) are fruiting abundantly on the Northern California coast right now. My family and I picked about 2 pounds today. For those unfamiliar, these mushrooms develop a strong maple flavor and odor when dried.

I’ve never had so many before, so I’m interested if anyone has made anything interesting with these. I’ve made ice cream in the past which was excellent but it might be good to mix things up a bit.

I’m particularly interested to see how they would work in more savory dishes and if anyone has eaten them fresh. Is it worth doing or do they need to be dried to be appreciated properly?

An update on the classic Dept of Unauthorized Forestry video. Looks like a lot of the trees survived the grumpy HOA people after all!
