Why don't server admins open OpenCollective accounts or something similar. It seems to work on Mastodon. I would be willing to pitch in to help finance the instance I'm on.
Ik denk dat het hem ook begon te dagen dat als hij aanbleef er straks geen coalitie over rechts mogelijk is. Want BBB wilde niet meer met Rutte en Wilders had ook aangegeven de motie tegen Rutte te steunen. Een nieuwe VVD leider kan straks makkelijker over rechts gaan.
Nog een gedachte. Dit betekent ook dat straks de BBB gewoon met de VVD een coalitie kan vormen. Want de BBB had aangegeven niet in een coalitie met Rutte te willen stappen. Nu hij weg is, is die blokkade er niet meer.
Politiek is onvoorspelbaar. Vorige week nog had ik de indruk dat het op de spits drijven van de asielkwestie een gecalculeerde zet was van de VVD, omdat ze dachten met Rutte hierop de verkiezingen te kunnen winnen. Nu valt dat allemaal uit handen. Rutte weg, Hoekstra weg, Kaag stapt ongetwijfeld ook op. Wellicht een nieuwe zet van Omtzigt. Hoe gaat dat allemaal uitpakken in november? Ik heb werkelijk geen flauw idee. Volgens mij ontstaat er een hele nieuwe dynamiek waarover nu nog weinig te zeggen valt. Ook wel interessant. Na vrijdag dacht ik, ok, dat betekent dat we styraks een rechtse coalitie krijgen. Nu weet ik dat zo net nog niet. Wat bijvoorbeeld als Frans Timmermans lijsttrekker van de GL/PvdA combinatie wordt? En ga zo maar door. Worden in elk geval geen saaie verkiezingen. Nederland kan een nieuwe koers inslaan.
Je hebt nog wel ministers nodig, lijkt me. Dus dan zou je helemaal over moeten naar een zakenkabinet.
Amsterdam heeft al een paar maanden een eigen Mastodon server en publiceert nu al het nieuws ook daar. Ik ben benieuwd waar andere overheden het voor gaan gebruiken. Gaan we straks ook volksvertegenwoordigers, wethouders, burgemeesters, ministers op Mastodon vinden? Dat zou een mooie volgende stap kunnen zijn. Of blijft het bij het pushen van nieuws?
Lijkt me een goed plan. Benieuwd of D66 en CU erin mee gaan. Zou de boel wel op scherp zetten.
Als hij het doet, dan zou dat de politieke verhoudingen helemaal kunnen omgooien.
Thank you for your thoughts. I would say that federated means decentralized in the first place. But to me it is also important that everybody can start an instance, users can switch from instance and you need to be able to control whith whom you connect. That means no forced algorithm. Being able to connect to other types of social media via something like activitypub is also high on my list. I disagree that the fediverse needs to be not-for-profit by definition. Bluesky is a for profit company and it has it’s own activitypub-like protocol. Is it part of the fediverse or not? Personally I prefer the not-for-profit fediverse and donate to several small instances monthly. I enjoy these communities that are not driven by profit, but by idealism.
Ik fiets zelf 14 kilometer naar werk en doe dat op een ebike. Kost me 35 minuten. De tijd hangt ook erg af van het feit of je lekker kunt doorfietsen of dat er overal stoplichten zijn. Ik fiets een deel door een park en dat is echt heel tof om te zien wat je daar allemaal aan natuur tegen komt het hele jaar. Ik werk twee tot drie dagen op kantoor en als het weer echt heel slecht is dan werk ik thuis. Fietsen in de winter valt wel mee. Je wordt warm van het fietsen en moet alleen zorgen voor warme handschoenen en een goede muts. Verder krijg je het niet zo snel koud bij het fietsen. En verder, het is al gezegd, koop een goed regenpak en het fietsen in de regen is dan niet echt een probleem meer.
I live in the Netherlands and we are going to build a huge capacity of wind power on the Northsea. Right now we have a capacity of 2,5 GW and that will grow to 21 GW in 2030 and to 70 GW in 2050. That's a lot for a small country. Next to that the Dutch government wants to build 2 nuclear power stations. And of course we will fase out all coal and gass power stations. But there is a lot of resistance against those two nuclear power stations and on the one hand I understand the objections. The electricity of those two nuclear power stations will be much more expensive that wind and solar energy. Also, the Dutch government wants to invest a lot of money in green hydrogen. Part of the windparks at sea will be used to produce green hydrogen. Also, we will use our natural gas infrastructure and harbors in Rotterdam and Amsterdam to get green LNG form abroad into our networks and into our empty natural gass field for storage.
At first I thought we might need those two nuclear power stations for base load and in case there is no wind and solar for a couple of weeks. But that seems expensive and perhaps it might not be necessary if we succeed in building the green hydrogen infrastructure. But the war in Ukraine changed my opinion. The infrastructure at sea might be vulnerable in case of conflict. What happened to the Nordstream pipeline might happen to our infrastructure in case of conflict with Russia. So now I think it might be wise to build those two nuclear powerstations, just to be safe. How do you people think about this? Is this wise? Is it a real threat, or will it be possible to protect that infrastructure on the Northsea? I am open to all insights. I'm not dogmatic about my opinions. The future is uncertain and we need all good arguments to make up our minds.
