Trump will take it as a compliment

I wish.
In Idiocracy the public wanted the smart people in charge, President Camacho even stepped aside when he knew he was unqualified compared to Joe.
In whatever the hell this is, the public demonizes intelligence.

America reached its tipping point of ignorance in 2016, we've been toppled since then.

Hasn't Trump been arguing for 2 weeks that it's illegal for judges to block executive orders?

[–] Chainweasel@lemmy.world 18 points 5 days ago (1 children)

We're well past the jail stage.
Jail is what should have happened when we still had something resembling the rule of law.
We're in a position now that Trump and Musk will never see justice unless it's served directly by the people.

Unfortunately Jack was dead for 8 years before the first B-2 spirit.

They need to kick the US out and make it the G6

But Musk is one of the many bad things Trump has done, in fact things like renaming the Gulf of Mexico, Fort Liberty, and mount Denali and other stupid ass executive orders coming out of the oval office are specifically designed to outrage us and keep us distracted from Musk dismantling the government behind the scenes.

[–] Chainweasel@lemmy.world 26 points 1 week ago (1 children)

They won't though, Elon dismantling our government gives them a daily breaking news headline and that's good for profits.

This is so Musk won't face local prosecution for doing the same things in Europe he did here.
Germany specially is going to be a target of his I think.

They're not self aware enough to realize they're going to make a martyr out of him

[–] Chainweasel@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

why change now?

Good question, because the Romans had an extensive welfare program to provide the Bread part of the equation, yet the current crop of idiots in change think it's a good idea to dismantle our welfare system.
The football won't matter when half of us are starving after grocery prices triple and there's no assistance.

Corporate culture is based on constant growth and ever increasing profit margins. Eventually they'll amass so much of the wealth that most of the lower class won't be able to purchase anything other than essentials like food.
No new cars, no tech gadgets, no fancy dinners, no vacations, no disposable income.
When we get there the economy collapses because there's no money going into it.
The profits stop rolling in, unnecessary goods stop being produced, and the luxury goods producer's shut down.
At this point the money they worked so hard to hoard becomes worthless because they can't buy anything with it.
What's the endgame for them if their current path takes them to a point where their assets are more or less worthless?

Long pressing on a comment has always collapsed it unless you were replying to the comment, then you could long press to highlight a string of text to quote for a reply.
Now, long pressing closes the parent in reply mode and there is no way to highlight text to copy for quoting purposes.

Every self-respecting Democrat or leftist who cares about themselves or their family should own a firearm and know how to properly and safely use it.
We're entering a time where it may be critical that you need to defend yourself. It is not out of the realm of possibility that you or your family may be targeted in the not distant future for your political leanings.
We all know that the Republicans have guns because they never shut the fuck up about them, and we also know that in their wildest wet dreams Trump will let them run the streets gunning down anyone who is isn't white or anyone who voted Democrat.
They have guns, they know how to use them, how are you going to defend yourself when they come for you?

I get it, Biden is old and that's a problem, but why doesn't anyone seem to have a problem with the fact that Trump is almost the same age, has 34 felonies, raped at least 2 women, went to Epstein's Island 11 times, sexualized his own daughter, stole classified documents, aligned himself with Xi and Putin, and can't remember common names?

Is all of that really better than being 2½ years older than he is right now?

Anyone seen this before?

My OS is on a 512gb M.2 drive, but the main storage on my laptop was a 1TB HDD, it started making noise about 2 weeks ago so I backed everything up onto a 1TB SanDisk USB SSD. This afternoon it got very clicky when I booted it up after work and icons for a few games I had stored on it, like KSP and YUZU, disappeared from the desktop and taskbar.
