That might be the case, but I think Trump supporters will see the invitation as international recognition.
Article was definitely written to appear that way. I remembered a different article that had this Zelensky comment as the headline, but they do technically call it out in their article. A lot of people only read the headline after all. ಠ_ಠ

Ignoring every reason that Trump is an idiot d****** and impotent, inviting the former president is an illogical way to persuade the current president to offer more aid, and will probably disincline Biden to help him.
When the US is already offering aid almost weekly.
