Just wish I could have a beer now, but I need to drive soon. Don't drink and drive, kids. ;)

Yo I saw some pictures from there today, it's insane. Stay safe out there.

I'm from Canada, we got a couple of fires in our province, but my city hasn't seen any smoke really.

[–] BrooklynMan@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 years ago

yeah, well, now you know where all of the smoke is. :P

stay safe!

Already light years ahead of Reddit

Honestly, yeah. There's lots of beauty in the mundane, I'd say.

I definitely posted this in a bit of a /r/fuckcars shitpost spirit, but I don't disagree. I love pictures of "generic car-centric north american highway exit town" because they inspire a kind of liminal space type of feeling to me.

Like I've no idea where the original pic was taken, but it could be in my city. There's barely any identifying features other than "vaguely north american". It feels like home even if it could be on the other side of the continent.

/r/Fuckcars is one of my favorite subreddits. Do you know of any similar urbanist groups on Lemmy?

There's !fuckcars@lemmy.ca with 144 subs and !fuck_cars@lemmy.ml with 28, none seem to be particularly active yet though.
