I’m halfway through the first episode and it has held my attention as well as any pilot I can remember. So far I think it’s excellent. I regret posting the article now.
Save it? I thought the franchise was doing great.
I'm not too knowledgeable on the business side of things, but I am a fan. The way I see is is that they've had two fantastic movies, followed by a string of duds. Then Ridley Scott came out with a decent movie only to follow it with something that wasn't good enough and killed the planned third movie is that series. If it was doing well, I'd be expecting more movies. But I thought Alien: Romulus, while not as good as Alien and Aliens, was better than any of the other sequels by far. So long story short I don't think the franchise is necessarily secure. Just my own perspective.
My point is that this headline read like clickbait for people that fall for negative attention.
I suppose that makes me a victim. I enjoyed the last movie.
You’re right about the headline. I didn’t see it that way initially but I wish I had before I decided to post it.
I really enjoyed Alien Romulus too. I saw it a few times in the cinema and watch it from time to time at home.
The scene above the rings of the planet is one of the most unique things I’ve seen in a movie.
It really was. There were some other unique things too like the gravity changing.
I mean, the movies have been great IMO, but I'd like to see more, and better games
I expect Alien: Isolation 2 to have a bigger (and more positive) impact on the franchise than this series.
I’d forgotten about that. That was big news. And unexpected.
I’m halfway through the pilot of Alien Earth now and so far it’s well executed. The acting is good and the atmosphere seems about right. It’s early days but it’s as good a start as possible.
