I have an 07 account (that's old enough to drink here), if this shit affects me in any way when it gets to my country they will join reddit on the scrap heap of dead to me sites just as fast.

I hope there's an easy way to mass edit your comments to "join peertube" if it comes to that.

in the meantime I'm making a point of getting all my subscriptions moved to freetube and checking out Grayjay.

Not sure about editing, but there is a dedicated page that shows every comment you left, that's how I deleted mine

edit: here

A-effin-men. I need to move to Peertube but know diddly squat about it lol.

I fucking hate this charade of pretending corporations doesnt already surveil everything and anything people do online. I get if it is kept up to publicly shame them if they admit to it but there are a good number of people actually beliving corps are good guys "cause competition roots out evil". Where is the revolution :)

Aux armes, citoyens,

Abreuve nos sillons !

Haha, "backlash". Yeah, sure.

People don't give a shit, they will forget that it's happening once news articles move to a different flavor of the week topics.

And the people that get into a choice of "prove with a photo/Id you are old enough or you can't watch this video" will just begrudgingly comply and never think about it again.

'member that 1 offhand comment you made in anger, anonymously, 17 years ago? of course you don't but the internet does.

people might wait until it personally affects them, as is usually the case, but I think you vastly underestimate how much people really don't want their post history linked to their real identity.
