Good wigs for movies are actually really fucking expensive. $1900 isnt even that much for one, really. Plus hours of work to put them on a person.

1900..
Bah that is child’s play.
The wigs used for Daenaries Targaryen in GOT were around 7500 bucks each.
one time I watched like a 45 minute video on YouTube of this dude attaching, shaping/sculpting a permanent human hair "unit" or "system" to this guy's head out of deep curiosity, and honestly, I get how that shit can cost crazy bank.
like if I was rich as shit I could see doing it as part of a series of disguises I could use in conjunction with fake documents and language learning to be an international chameleon and trouble maker, because the impressions a thick head of hair can give are dramatically different.
Was this the inspiration for "The Trouble with Tribbles"? A whole episode that is about too many missing hairpieces.
e: Checking the dates, maybe they lost the hairpieces when making that episode?
couldnt they just let people use their natural hairstyles for the characters
I'm surprised nobody has figured out how to just harvest the scalp and hair of the young and the poor for the rich to wear as spectacle.
