And that's just the people that watched in on "dry land."

You won't see my 3 watch throughs in that statistic.

[–] Mongostein@lemmy.ca 4 points 6 days ago (1 children)

If you’re using Plex you might

[–] Canconda@lemmy.ca 2 points 6 days ago

Interesting! Good thing I'm not!

[–] FerretyFever0@fedia.io 21 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I watched it once. Got sent to a few weed and porn sites, but that's alright. It was decent, pretty entertaining.

Are you raw dogging? You need adblockers, brotha.

Edit: Check out the host for adhd memes, and pick the second most popular community. Pick the mega thread, and it should be self-explanatory from there.

Or stop streaming and start seeding.

I may or may not have obtained that episode plus the previous 26 seasons last week. It's crazy how many memes and characters and well known quotes were from right out of the gate in the first season way back in 1997.

my 3 watch throughs

If you watch it more than three times, you're just playing with it.

The moment broadcasters realize there is a financial incentive to make fun of Trump

[–] acosmichippo@lemmy.world 72 points 1 week ago (3 children)

they do, they’ve been milking trump from both sides this whole time.

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 24 points 1 week ago

CNN pissed me off with that shit in 2015. Trump wasn't a serious contender to begin with, but all our media was non-stop talking Trump because the buffoon got eyes on the screen. And here we are.

Are we still doing phrasing?

A bit of a Streisand effect. I haven’t watched South Park in years, but I heard about this episode because trump was complaining about it. Otherwise I probably never would have noticed

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

With all the drama around Colbert, it was hard to ignore. I was hearing about it long before Trump tuned in.

Much more curious to see how Paramount execs respond, since the Skydance merger is what's driving their servile behavior.

Still #1 torrent popularity for 6 days going now.

[–] Pyr_Pressure@lemmy.ca 61 points 1 week ago (8 children)

I pirated it, add one more to the count

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 week ago

Same. The actual view count is definitely much higher.

can't be, Trump said nobody watches South Park anymore

[–] FerretyFever0@fedia.io 27 points 1 week ago

He knows what's popular with the people, I'm sure he was right, this is just libtard wokeist marxist communist abortionist feminist maoist stalinist anti-white propaganda.

[–] kingofras@lemmy.world 45 points 1 week ago

This thing has been viewed a ton more on the high seas due to the fact that nobody wants to support Pee Sky Plus anymore.

My educated guess (not including the free snippets they ran on cable shows and posted their own yt) is that close to 50 mil have seen the entire clip. Probably twice that have seen the crucial snippets of it at least once.

Trey and Matt already got paid anyway.

[–] Sunshine@piefed.ca 18 points 1 week ago (3 children)

I can't believe the white house wasted valuable government time to respond to this episode.

[–] VeryVito@lemmy.ml 23 points 1 week ago

valuable government time

There is nothing of value to America being done in the White House

[–] TORFdot0@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

Every moment the current administration wastes is immensely valuable to the American people. It’s when they are working that it’s bad for us

Pretty good numbers for an irrelevant, fourth-rate show

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

5.4M more than the latest Simpsons, to put irrelevant fourth-rate shows in perspective.

I loved this episode. South Park pissed me off when they used kid gloves to mock Trump in his first term, but they're redeeming themselves in my eyes. This is the first time I've looked forward to seeing an episode in over ten years.

[–] Couldbealeotard@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Apparently they had both endings ready, pending the election results, but they didn't expect Trump to win. Then they had to just roll with it going forward. It's hard to make satire of something that already feels like a satire in real life.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Nah, that was a lame excuse. They've had no problem excoriating celebrities for doing minor dumb stuff, but they don't even try to really tear into neo Hitler? This feels like a correction of a past wrong.

[–] Couldbealeotard@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

What was the past wrong you are referring to? They spent entire seasons mocking Trump. I'm not sure that any of their satire targets got that many episodes dedicated to them.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 2 points 6 days ago

It was treating him like he was just some goofball rather than an existential threat to the US. The same thing most other things making fun of him did/do.

[–] Cruxifux 9 points 1 week ago

I mean I watched it on my pirated system so I assume they don’t count that, and I am sure im not the only one.

[–] DrFistington@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

More than that

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 5 points 1 week ago (2 children)

the bad thing is paramount is now merged with skydance, the owner is a trumper, its helping a pro-trumper more than humiliating him.

[–] SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone 11 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Not sure that's entirely true... It's definitely something to be cognizant of, but empowering your base and shitting on Nazis is well worth the price of admission, here.

Plus, a LOT more people saw it than 6 million. I'm betting that number is going to be in the billions, especially so since Trump is shitting his pants even more over it, a la Streisand Effect.

Trump is a serial child rapist and all over the Epstein files.

[–] Lekip@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Billions might be a wee bit optimistic :'D

The media companies have been run by right wing shit brains since forever. In the past, they generally let the writers do whatever they want as long as the money keeps flowing.

That may be changing. Not clear yet.
