As a bonus for sharing my crows, here's their menu.
Lol Crows like dog food? I was thinking about getting some salted nuts for the wild ones in my backyard for when they return
But if they also like dog food that would be so much easier since I already keep a ready supply of that lmao
A lot of our patients get dog or cat food in addition to other stuff. For omnivores it seems to have basic nutrition. For the younger/smaller animals, the cat food is soaked in water to let it break down easier when they eat it, especially since birds don't have teeth. The crows are bigger and can handle the dry dog bits.
They have their favorite bits from the mix, like anyone else. This one will typically eat some carrot first, then a mouse, but I think it did take some of the dog food today.
I don't think salt is great for them. All our nuts at the clinic are plain, and I give my wild guys at home unsalted peanuts, and mine at least greatly prefer the ones in the shell. Sometimes they'll try to fit a few unshelled in their mouth and take off to enjoy them, but 9 times out of 10 they will prefer the ones in shells. I just buy the big bag of peanuts from the grocery store.
