This is exceptionally funny because if anything Iran and China both have the same sort of "Historical trauma" and similar historical context with comparable civilizational roots which is nothing like Israel, even if one would accept the claim that Israel today is the same one as Kingdom of Israel which it obviously is not. It is one of the truest examples of attempted false historical consciousness I have seen. Thankfully it will not succeed unlike many other false historical consciousnesses that developed in modern era.

Interesting that he doesn't think Iran is ancient.

Yeah the Battle of Thermopylae was actually between the Italians and Chinese. Don't you know your history?

To Israelis, this is in the dim and distant past beyond all human recognition

Cyrus the Great would like a word with Rabbi Boteach here

I initially read the title reversed for a brief second

Two ancient civilisations, China and Iran, must unite in moral leadership.

Really curious what he thinks the “shared trauma” is.

When the concentration camp rave got crashed and israeli apaches strafed all those festival-goers in their cars, that was like the century of humiliation

I looked up the article and found the answer:

I call upon China’s leadership—and the conscience of every Chinese citizen—to recognize our shared past trauma, born of two of history’s most harrowing chapters: the [Nanjing Massacre] and the October 7 massacre in Israel.

Relative to the size of each nation’s population, the massacres in Nanking and southern Israel are chillingly comparable.

To paraphrase, China know from experience about a country denying war crimes, so it should sympathise with Israel over the debunked lies the author regurgitates about Oct7 and abandon Iran because they EEEEVIL.

That’s just flat out insulting to suggest Nanjing and 10/7 are even remotely comparable. What the Japanese forces did makes even the Zionist propaganda version of 10/7 look like school yard bullying.

[–] refolde@hexbear.net 14 points 1 day ago

It's even more insulting because Nanjing is infinitely more comparable to what the fucking Israeli scumbags are doing to Gaza right the fuck now than 10/7 would ever be. Israelis shut your fucking ass up and quit spewing wet shit out of your disgusting mouths challenge (IMPOSSIBLE)

[–] purpleworm@hexbear.net 7 points 1 day ago

That is somehow much worse than what I thought they were going for with Japanese colonialism more generally, which would still be an abominable, nonsensical comparison but not as acutely gross

I don't even know what to say about this.

Other than the fact that Fascists fucking hate history and want to rewrite it all to suit their own desires. They want to burn books and rewrite history so that Palestine never existed, it was only ever Israel.

Shmuley Boteach sounds like the name of a side character from Rick and Morty

At least they're cozying up, contrary to the Ukraine guys who were like "China bad but also China absolutely has to sanction Russia and help us"

Israel is younger than Trump

Thank you for your input, mr sex rabbi

[–] Pentacat@hexbear.net 2 points 12 hours ago

“Daughter-sex Rabbi” is probably a little more accurate.

Genocide as ‘moral leadership’. It really doesn’t get more sickening than that

[–] Monk3brain3@hexbear.net 9 points 1 day ago

China would love to be good with the Us and Israel. But the US won't allow it and Israel is good at nothing except being a parasitic tool for the US and doing genocide.

[–] propter_hog@hexbear.net 9 points 1 day ago

In dog years, isn'treal is ancient

[–] BynarsAreOk@hexbear.net 5 points 1 day ago

Even at this point China is still reinforcing a two state solution so... I don't know who this is for.
