Why would shitposting on Lemmy, get people to switch back to Reddit, a site famous for shitposting?

Beanposting seems to be a pretty organic meme rising out of the fact that Lemmy is pretty new and people don’t really mind shitposts yet because there is such good content on Lemmy since the community hasn’t grown too large yet

Seems more like Lemmy users are building up a mythology. "I was there in the early days. Remember poop and beans?"

Doubt it. It's just dumb low effort posting over here trying to force inside jokes on Lemmy. I blocked all of that sort of stuff back in the day on Reddit, and I blocked it here too.

In what way would these bean memes make people go back to Reddit? "Go back to reddit. They don't have beans?" There are beans there too.

The bean shit made me feel like this place had become more comfortable as it just reminded me of shit we did on Reddit. It was funny.

I'm not really into beans and shitposting, but I don't mind my feed flooded (yet) because it's always good to see people being active and having fun.

I was gonna post that this place becoming Reddit in the worst way, bean posting being in my mind. Hadn't considered this.

Still, an easy way to find out if this conspiracy is true is by checking who upvoted those posts.

The greedy little pig and his crownies may be dumb, but I think they would have better ways to get people to return to reddit if they wanted. Rotting a webpage using shitposts from an already rotten webpage with shitposts is not smart.

I have a feeling that you may have invited it yourselves by joining a bunch of meme and shitposting communities. You shouldn't really be surprised if you end up seeing a bunch of memes and shitposts.
