The trick is to have pineapple that has been carmelized. If it's just canned and thrown on top it ain't the same.
You can get creative and soak your pineapple too. Add a bit of heat it.
Fun fact: the protein-digesting enzyme bromelain is found in pineapples. So in some sense, while you're eating the pineapple, the pineapple is eating you . Do with that what you will.
