NEWS JOHN OLIVER JUST MIGHT LIKE TO KNOW:
The cats on r/legalcatadvice are rallying behind the #VOTES4CATS banner after learning a Sheriff in Catsworth, er, Chatsworth, CA, faces charges for attempting to register four cats to vote. The cats have taken up the cause and felines from democracies around the world are joining. Other animals, from farm animals in South Africa to a guinea pig in Philadelphia, are joining in solidarity.
Their hope? If cats get the vote in democracies worldwide, they can achieve a Planet of the Cats where felines make the rules.
They say the hoomons have had their chance -- and failed miserably. After weeks of reports by Kynx Kat Media Group reporters -- cats from around the globe who make the sub their home -- continued to detail the affects of extreme weather conditions on themselves and their compatriots, the first rumbles of a cat takeover began.
When the news broke that someone attempted to register cats to vote, a movement was born. A rural Georgia cat, Smuffi, began rallying friends when his friend Gus, an LA area kitty, brought the California court case to the attention of all.
Coincidentally, their first rally was held on Bastille Day, July 14 -- and celebrated by French cats as well, including KKMG European reporter Jaspurr.
