Wait, I thought we were still on Obama’s birth certificate…… I mean Hunter’s laptop?! LMAO

[–] Daft_ish@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago) (1 children)

Priorities my friend. We cant be out here just running a muck. It will distract the electorate and sow distrust in the system.

Jk, Americans fat and lazy.

[–] ABetterTomorrow@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 hours ago

Hey man! That’s not very…… yeah that’s very true about us lol.

[–] Lemminary@lemmy.world 8 points 11 hours ago

You joke, but Trump recently had a meeting where he mentioned Hunter Biden's laptop... again!

[–] Mrkawfee@lemmy.world 103 points 1 day ago (2 children)

These people would literally not shut up about the Epstein client list before the election and Pam Bondi said it was "on her desk" as early as February.

They really are playing MAGA for chumps.

[–] Daft_ish@lemmy.dbzer0.com 48 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

I agree, but you cant play chumps for chumps. They are chumps.

Morons And Genuine Assholes

[–] Melvin_Ferd@lemmy.world 50 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Holy shit they really did spread a lot of stuff about her emails. Like I couldn't turn on the TV without hearing about it.

[–] Lemminary@lemmy.world 1 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

And she turned out to be innocent and I still can't get over that fact.

[–] Melvin_Ferd@lemmy.world 5 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

I don't know about innocent lol

Just look at this

That election was lost on a scandal that is basically a Tuesday for the trump administration. How far we have fallen.

It also demonstrates how impotent the DNC is. They only have to wake up tomorrow, pluck the lowest hanging fruit and never shut up about it for 10 years and the GOP would crumble.

Dumb.

[–] PugJesus@lemmy.world 3 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

It also demonstrates how impotent the DNC is. They only have to wake up tomorrow, pluck the lowest hanging fruit and never shut up about it for 10 years and the GOP would crumble.

The DNC is impotent and incompetent, but they also appeal to very different demographics than the GOP. For example, only a slim majority of our party ate lead paint chips as children.

[–] Daft_ish@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago) (1 children)

I want to believe you but im not entirely convinced democrats arent susceptible to the same dumbassery.

Not after last election where they had everything to lose and they knew the odds were stacked against them. Still lost to a guy in orange face.

[–] PugJesus@lemmy.world 3 points 8 hours ago

I mean, there are almost certain some who are susceptible to that same dumbassery. But enough who aren't already voting to cripple the GOP?

I don't know what the solution is, and I'm not saying don't find something to hammer the dumb-drum on to get the rats of Hamburg to follow us to a slightly-better-world. I'm just saying that it's unlikely to be any single or easy solution unless there's some radical new coalition combination of the electorate that we're just missing.

The dislike of Hillary was deeply entrenched. When Bill Clinton was elected and Hillary was First Lady they worked on a preliminary plan for universal healthcare that was dumped. Hillary was involved in the drafting of the plan.

This was a time when the 24h news cycle, via CNN, was only on the cusp of getting started. The nightly news, still in full swing, said awful things about her. They said she should stay in her lane and, worse, that she should be picking out china and curtains instead. They sneered at her on air with great contempt. Not Fox. ABC, NBC, CBS, and CNN. All 4 were outraged by her stepping out of line as First Lady.

I cannot imagine this pervasive attitude wasn’t present in the Boomer+ vote.

In addition, Malcom Gladwell addressed some pervasive societal issues in Season 1 of his podcast in an episode called The Lady Vanishes. He predicted her loss.

[–] Daft_ish@lemmy.dbzer0.com 18 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

that she should be picking out china and curtains instead.

Kinda funny how now trump spends all his time redecorating the white house with gold embellishments and building flag poles.

[–] Melvin_Ferd@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago (3 children)

The DNC are not responsible for combating this stuff that's on us. We're the ones that are impotent.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 5 points 1 day ago

Ehhhhhhh, they have a role to play in this.

[–] Daft_ish@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

They are responsible for winning elections. So no, we cant do enough on our own to stem the bleeding. We need leadership.

[–] Melvin_Ferd@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

No, we do win elections. We are the steam driving the engine. So many great political leaders with great platforms get destroyed because that stuff doesn't matter as much as being socially aware.

It's a game and the left are so far removed from understanding how to find any strategy that works. The people on the right I think inherently get it. I really believe there's something about people where if you associate with the right leaning issues, it's because personally you understand something about culture and society that people on the left never will. And this gives them a big advantage.

Just imagine a lake filled with boats having a party blasting lynard Skynyrd with girls in bikinis flashing tits and fireworks going off in the background. If you ask people who they voted for, the answers going to be trump and that's fucked up that people on the left have no idea how important that is in winning elections

If you ask people to think of a leftist, you get a Reddit moderator.

Elections are now won digitally through shit posting.

[–] RBWells@lemmy.world 2 points 5 hours ago

I dunno - why not Burning Man, or any alternative rock concert or any R&B concert, or scientists? I guess that's your point, they are good at branding to their own. I can say with confidence that my kids' ideas of a leftist are not "Reddit Moderator" because they think that site has been overrun by conservatives.

[–] Daft_ish@lemmy.dbzer0.com -1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The DNC have to play a part in coordinating the digital media campaign. You know th GOP does.

[–] Melvin_Ferd@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Look at the GOP. They're fucking idiots. They don't play a part. It's the people around them and their base.

The people around them in 2016 didn't do anything we don't already do ourselves. The difference was they coordinate it. I called it out then that you could literally see the right wing users building networks like a slime mold. You could see Dan Bongino building followers and then start posting things from libsotiktok and you'd watch them both share users. Then they branched to Peterson to Charlie Kirk to Ben Shapiro and so on. It wasn't just engagement and people saying I'm going to add these people to my Twitter. It was building a network to disseminate shit posts and memes quickly and those things are essentially information at the end of the day. It helped keep critical stories alive as more people saw it and created their own which would get passed around these networks.

The GOP wasn't doing shit. They are just acting like fools and would get certain shit posts bubbling up which they'd go on bring up in the Senate like assholes bringing more attention to cat litter story's or masks killing people.

But the root of it all was the base was willing to do the work and they were aware that they needed to do the work.

[–] Daft_ish@lemmy.dbzer0.com -1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

And what happens to every GOP cuck that simps for trump? They are adopted into the administration.

You'd have to be an idiot to not accept they are coordinated. Sure some might just be emulating but when the GOP sends a message its amplified by everyone associated with them.

[–] Melvin_Ferd@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I am saying they're coordinated. But it isn't those politicians. They're like actors. It's the teams behind them feeding them lines. Their message is amplified by every day people in the same way that we amplified bean Sheeran moth posts. We're just spending our time differently

[–] Daft_ish@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 day ago

Its a feedback loop, the politicians are just as much involved as the mouth pieces.

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Right, you can only blame groups that are smaller than others.

[–] Daft_ish@lemmy.dbzer0.com -1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I assume you have a point and I dont even want to get into because youre not entirely wrong. The people need to do better, thats fact.

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

People on lemmy are often polarized between "the problem is all the democrats" or "the problem is the voters". I think both are to blame. There are definitely more voters than democrats though.

[–] Daft_ish@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Can we just say they ruin each other?

Voters need to learn they have to remain steadfast to achieve anything in this political system.

Democrats need to learn their voters need constant affirmation of their dedication to fixing the broken system.

Just like any relationship, though this one infinitely more complex, all party's have to want to be together for it to be a success. This requires, amoung other things, daily maintenance.

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Yeah, we can.

[–] CosmicTurtle0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The DNC rigged the primary for Hilary and pushed Bernie out. My unpopular opinion is that the DNC was within their rights to do that (being a private party and all) but it was shitty as hell.

The DNC is putting their finger on the scale in the NYC mayoral race right fucking now.

The DNC is getting away with this because we can't be bothered to create a third party or hold them accountable.

...

Wow I started this post wanting to disagree with you but....yeah...we really need to be marching against the DNC right now.

[–] PugJesus@lemmy.world 2 points 12 hours ago

The DNC rigged the primary for Hilary and pushed Bernie out.

The "rigging" amounted to "Played favorites in signal-boosting Hillary". Which, while unfair and shitty, really does nothing to contradict the fact that Bernie lost by far more than the DNC doing signal-boosting for the right-wing cretin.

I voted and marched for Bernie in 2016. I donated at a time when I didn't really have money to donate. I still love Bernie. But we, the primary voters, failed the US; we primary voters were not prevented from casting the votes they wanted to or playing a rigged game. We, as a very distinct majority, voted for Clinton instead of Bernie. And then for Biden instead of Bernie.

At some point, one must acknowledge the voters are the core of the problem, even if the DNC deserves to be driven to live off locusts in the desert and never show their faces in civilized society again.

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The DNC won't resist the fascist takeover because they work for the same overlords as the fascists.

[–] Daft_ish@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

This is true. Not by virtue but in fact. Corporations feed the DNC with their left hand and the GOP with their right hand then wash them clean with the blood of Palestinians.

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They only have to wake up tomorrow, pluck the lowest hanging fruit and never shut up about it for 10 years and the GOP would crumble.

Except this only works on right wing morons

[–] Daft_ish@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

I wouldn't be so sure but data does show democrats are more educated.

But like look at vaccines.

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Outliers exist, yes.

[–] Zephorah@discuss.online 9 points 1 day ago (2 children)

And if you watched the hearing, she used the same email format as Colin Powell.

It’s the hypocrisy that bothers me. Roast anyone who is out of line, either party, but instead they take a stance of overinflating things like jeans and the tan suit and then ignore serious indiscretions and illegal activity on the right.

[–] chiliedogg@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They literally changed the rules on email storage while she was the Secretary of State, then crucified her for not migrating quickly enough.

In 20 years they still haven't managed to get a fucking star on everyone's driver's licenses so they can ride in an airplane, but she didn't migrate tech systems fast enough and she should be in prison I guess?

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.world 9 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I think her shit was more secure than a signal chat where you add a reporter.

[–] 4am@lemmy.zip 6 points 1 day ago

It’s wasn’t even signal. It was a clone that decrypts server side and logs all the messages for “data retention compliance”.

They shut down soon after. So, who the fucking fuck knows were those logs are now.

[–] Melvin_Ferd@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

But what really matters here?

Is it if she actually has the most secure storage or is it more about what people thought about this situation?

[–] Melvin_Ferd@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

But it's super effective and I don't understand why people on the left don't realize this is what it takes to win right now. Until the culture changes, this is how you do it. But it feels like the left are just lagging behind.

[–] Zephorah@discuss.online 1 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Walz broke that a little, freely calling people dipshits and poking at Vance with Reddit rhetoric. But it didn’t win so they likely won’t roll it out again.

It looks like their main strategy is to roll Buttigieg out in increments as their new face.

Meanwhile, Bernie and AOC are going their own way.

[–] Melvin_Ferd@lemmy.world 3 points 5 hours ago* (last edited 5 hours ago)

Walz was great. Dems are fucking idiots

[–] MNByChoice@midwest.social 17 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Is this CGI, or did it really happen?

For those wondering, the women seem to be people that accused Bill Clinton of rape.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juanita_Broaddrick
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kathy_Shelton
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paula_Jones
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kathleen_Willey

When it comes to rape, "the cleanest dirty shirt" does not apply.

Maybe the President, Congress, and law enforcement should all be held to a higher standard?

[–] Daft_ish@lemmy.dbzer0.com 20 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

This is a real panel trump, totally not a rapist, held in 2016. I point it out because now trump wants to say, "epstein is old news" when he is just a manipulator and 100% does not care about kicking up 100 year old dust.
