FOSS Lemmy moderation tools? (lemmy.blahaj.zone)
submitted 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) by Lanthanae@lemmy.blahaj.zone to c/foss@beehaw.org

Does anyone know of FOSS moderation tools or automod bots that exist for Lemmy? I was intending on starting work on some solutions but if projects already exist I'd rather contribute to those rather than risk creating 15 competing standards

So create a 16th standard as a universal standard that bridges the 15 before it.

I feel like since this is a FOSS platform, while it might not be as flexible as something standalone, it would be nice to include all the batteries in Lemmy. This is something we can do better than Reddit.

"The good thing about standards is that there are so many to choose from."

@db0@lemmy.dbzer0.com posted a new Python wrapper for Lemmy that he's started working on over at !python@programming.dev : https://programming.dev/post/39578

You've pointed out a good idea for a potential automated moderation bot.

Not that I have seen. Fortunately the API is open and documented here. There seems to exist a typescript bot framework, but I havent seen it in the wild.
