At this point I'm assuming everyone turning on Tesla's self driving is trying to commit murder-suicide with a side of life insurance fraud.

How are these car isuranable? I think any insurance company would go running in the opposite direction the insure one of these cars.
Tesla has their own insurance division because nobody will insure them.
The problem with "self-driving" tech punting you into the oncoming lane is that you may have no time to react. Reaction times are non-zero, also when reacting to your own car doing something unexpected.
That first one is nothing and I'd call it fine. Second one is fucking horrible, third one's drunk.
