Hey everyone i have a 9 years old 1070 gaming X that i want to open and repaste.

i have no issue with that part but feel a bit of concern for the state of the thermal pads after all this time, as in they may be in a very degraded state that would have them crumbling or something, and leave me unable to put it back together without replacing them as well. (which i am not able to rn)

it didn't run very hot during that time, mainly low effort gaming, so contant high heat that would hasten degradation wasn't an issue.

is it a real risk that i should be wary of, or am i probably good to go?

thanks in advance for answers!
