But I’m saying, as an environmentalist, we have failed to shift the narrative and we are still caught up in the same legal, economic and political systems.

For me, what we’ve got to do now is hunker down. The units of survival are going to be local communities, so I’m urging local communities to get together.

We can not accept this doomerism. Those of us who have kids urge you to do everything in your power regardless. Vote, plant trees, buy solar, bike to work, conserve energy. Thank you for your service.

I do this here in Australia; Vote Green, have solar, cycle but don't work any more, grow lots of our own food.

I also accept only a handful of others do the same, 90% don't give a shit and it's why as David says, we're fucked.

Yeah sadly yes more about economics and at scale production of goods we need. EU supply chain laws will help with that somewhat. I spend a few euros extra for green power and don't buy cheap meat if possible. Reduced frequency and improved quality helps animal welfare and the climate which is a good tradeoff for me without having to stop eating meat completely. I strive for a majority plant based diet without falling into the vegan ego trip trap. I'm somewhat improving, but far from perfect. :)

At this point I'm less concerned about stopping climate change (because that ship has sailed) and more concerned about how I plan to spend the rest of my life.
