Meets the definition of terrorism.

Not even joking: get an armed security detail my guy like now.

[–] Des@hexbear.net 11 points 2 days ago

i would even be down with him crowdsourcing that

Trump has made Zohran an even bigger national figure, we finally have a viable successor to Bernie's liberal ass legacy, we have a capital-S Socialist in the game

The DNC now has to decide whether to stand with Trump, ignore Zohran or bend the fuckin knee, either way Zohran is a lock to win the general

[–] rodneyck@lemmy.dbzer0.com 38 points 2 days ago (3 children)

The DNC and the neo-liberals are never going to bend the knee to Zohran. They will either vote for Adams or Cuomo running as an independent. I will wait for them to pull something, including a gun on him.

On the flip side, I hope Zohran, if elected, doesn't abandon his principals and turn into another fake progressive like AOC, who talks a big game and then votes for genocide and sheep-herds into voting for the neo-liberal candidate.

In response, Stein wrote on X: "Well @AOC, you supporting genocide was NOT on my bingo card, but the Democrats have a way of changing people who say they're going to 'change the party from the inside'". - Jill Stein

I feel so redeemed having voted for her

Idc if she’s not a communist, she’s good as it gets for a soc dem and all the people criticizing her are literally genocide apologists

[–] comrade_pibb@hexbear.net 19 points 2 days ago

Yeah, fair play, Stein

If/when Zohran gets fucked over I hope leftists can turn that into bigger momentum

The worst thing that could happen is the Democrats offering him a deal and him turning into Bernie 2.0

Excellent font choice for Zohran. It's magical

[–] fox@hexbear.net 18 points 2 days ago

I've seen some deep dives on Zohran's campaign branding and it's pretty great stuff. He borrows a lot of visual cues from the graphics of NYC. Bodega menus, theater signs, poster columns, etc

[–] RedWizard@hexbear.net 16 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It's giving ZOLTAR

But that's mostly because Zoltar and Mamdani's design choices are rooted in Indian and Bollywood aesthetics. You can read more about his campaign's design here:

Is he going to make New York Big?

[–] HamManBad@hexbear.net 17 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Is that the same font PSL uses?

[–] Flyberius@hexbear.net 18 points 2 days ago

I don't believe so. This has more flair

This reads like that parody email where Nancy Pelosi is asking for donations while being lined up in front of a firing squad by republicans

[–] RedWizard@hexbear.net 19 points 2 days ago

$5 BECOMES $10! I need you to pledge whatever you can to my campaign! Every dollar gets us closer to reducing the number of armed guards at my planned execution by firing squad and a brief extension of my life!

“Attack on democracy”, “authoritarian”, “MAGA Republicans”, “division”, “distraction”

[–] RedSailsFan@hexbear.net 24 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (2 children)

man HB is libbing out, this is identical to what any generic democrat would put out and you're getting attacked for pointing that out

before someone comes in and inserts words in my mouth no im not saying he should be putting death to in amerikkka in all caps or something like that but idk, put something that actually sounds like a socialist wrote it, power of the people, the masses, literally anything to separate yourself from a bluemaga dem

[–] quarrk@hexbear.net 14 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Mamdani has nothing to gain by using stronger language than he already has. He just needs to apply China’s “do nothing, win” strategy because all of the opposition is doing the work for him.

I don’t mean he should compromise on principles but I think you are greatly exaggerating the significance of this statement. No one on HB is expecting this guy to be Lenin 2.0, that gets repeated every day. Mamdani appears to be a clear win for the left, not a total victory, but damn y’all are so used to losing that you forgot how to win

[–] RedSailsFan@hexbear.net 6 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

great another example of what i said in another thread, literally cant make the single lightest bit of criticism about him on the internet rn, i havent even claimed that this is of any actual significance anywhere , it's just a very mild criticsm that i dont think socialists should be putting out statements that sound like they were written by a blue maga dem, and instead you're coming in and claiming that i think that mamdani's victory isnt a win for a left

[–] quarrk@hexbear.net 12 points 2 days ago (1 children)

“HB is libbing out” isn’t critique directed at Zohran. It’s wrecker behavior whether you intended that or not (I truly don’t think you did). Vague insults that no one can meaningfully engage with (you don’t seem to want to further discuss the specific points of the post beyond it feeling lib) isn’t adding anything, it’s harmful actually.

I don’t feel negatively toward you individually and don’t want this to draw out into a back and forth, so I’ll leave it alone

[–] RedSailsFan@hexbear.net 10 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

the criticism i have of people on hb (and the rest of the internet this isnt remoltely a hb only problem) isnt that i think people think he's lenin 2.0, it's that if you give criticisms of him no matter how gentle, people come in and "crashout", they immediately assume you're calling him a lib like AOC, they will act as if you said things you didnt actually say, etc etc etc. In particular i said this was an example of "libbing out" because i thought it was quite clear what the top level comment was saying and people were acting like they were saying something really weird/stupid when the statement is filled with language that is used to performatively protest against trump. by blue maga dems. i guess i could just start copy pasting shit and just start arguing with 4 people at once but imo that is actual wrecker behavior plus not worth my time so i just left a generic comment summarizing their comments as "libbing out" to let the top level user know that i thought everyone responding to make fun of them was "libbing out"

[–] porcupine@lemmygrad.ml 7 points 2 days ago

radlibs love their DNC madlibs. surely this time a socdem winning a primary will be the thing that beats fascism and lets them go back to brunch. to be charitable, maybe they're literal teenagers who don't remember when Obama, Sanders, Warren, AOC, etc. was the One True Progressive whose election would reform the party and redeem the genocidal settler empire.

“I” “shit” “my” “pants”

[–] Lussy@hexbear.net 13 points 2 days ago

Are you just getting offended on behalf of chuds

[–] miz@hexbear.net 6 points 2 days ago

yep. as soon as someone uses the word "authoritarian" you know they're either full of shit or have not done the reading

each of these quoted phrases is a denial of the class antagonism between workers and owners, except "MAGA Republicans" which is essentially Nancy Pelosi's "we need a sane Republican party" garbage

[–] hexthismess@hexbear.net 8 points 2 days ago

"Shidding out my doodoo ass", "bedtime", "pee pee poo poo", "fard"
