I started working at UPS last month. I missed a day because the cab I called never showed up (Figures), but my attendance was good other than that. I ended up stuck in the hospital for a week without my phone. I was able to send my supervisor's contact information to my dad so he could call him and explain the situation. As soon as I got my phone back, I contacted my supervisor, and he immediately told me I was taken off the schedule due to missing so much time. I asked him to clarify if that meant I was terminated, and he says "Yes. The nice way to say it. Sorry". Like, seriously? What a dick. I didn't choose to get stuck in a hospital. I was already trying to get another job because these guys are so quick to fire people, but hadn't secured one yet. I'm so screwed now.
