I’ve not played the game or followed the drama. While it sucks for people who did I understand Epics position here. I think refunds are appropriate, I also think this is ample notice for such a crap change.

I’ll try to remember to find an article or video explaining what happened here.

The article touches on it, briefly, to say that it's related to legal disputes. Except that Ironmace WON the legal dispute, with a ruling stating that they did not infringe copyright with this game. So, I really don't get it.

It's tough to say without having access to the legal documents from the case. When Nacon and Frogwares were in court over The Sinking City, they both made statements suggesting that the court was in their favor.
