Explanation: During the final Siege of Constantinople, the success of the Ottoman Turkish conqueror, Mehmed II, was enabled in large part by the use of large amounts of cannons (including one of the largest ever built) - then a cutting-edge technology. Hokey old stone walls are no match for a good cannon by your side!
