Documenting hate speech, conspiracy theories, apologia/revisionism, and general tankie behaviour across the fediverse. Memes are welcome!

What is a Tankie?

Alternatively, a detailed blog post about Tankies.

(caution of biased source)

Basic Rules:

Sh.itjust.works Instance rules apply! If you are from other instances, please be mindful of the rules. — Basically, don't be a dick.

Hate-Speech — You should be familiar with this one already; practically all instances have the same rules on hate speech.

Apologia(Using the Modern terminology for Apologia) No Defending, Denying, Justifying, Bolstering, or Differentiating authoritarian acts or endeavours, whether be a Pro-CCP viewpoint, Stalinism, Islamic Terrorism or any variation of Tankie Ideology.

Revisionism — No downplaying or denying atrocities past and present. Calling Tankies shills, foreign/federal agents, or bots also falls under this rule. Extremists exist. They are real. Do not call them shills or fake users as it handwaves their extremism.

Tankies can explain their views but may be criticised or attacked for them. Any slight infraction on the rules above will immediately earn a warning and possibly a ban.

Off-topic Discussion — Do not discuss unrelated topics to the point of derailing the thread. Stay focused on the direct content of the post as opposed to arguing.

You'll be warned if you're violating the instance and community rules. Continuing poor behaviour after being warned will result in a ban or removal of your comments. Bans typically only last 24 hours, but each subsequent infraction will double the amount. Depending on the content, the ban time may be increased. You may request an unban at any time.

There's definitely a discussion to be had about the efficacy of homework, but this ain't it.

[–] PugJesus@kbin.social 24 points 2 years ago (1 children)

"Homework is ineffective." Yes.

"Homework is part of the school-to-prison-pipeline and also fascism" what

[–] Ignacio@kbin.social 9 points 2 years ago (1 children)

So, when children had homework in the USSR, were they under fascism? I knew it.

Their kind change the meaning of that word daily to suit their narratives of the moment

I'd rather talk about how obvious it is that the fediverse is literally controlled by children.

ScrewdriverFactoryFactoryProvider might be one of the rare anarchist hexbears? In any case, unironic solidarity with our anti-homework, anti-bedtime comrades.

Critical support for dog shitting.

"What are you doing up still?"

"Dog had to go out, waiting to bring him back in." [dog has been chilling outside eating fireflies for the past hour]

[–] cacheson@kbin.social 3 points 2 years ago

Ha, I never had a dog, so I missed out on that one. Mostly I remember trying to muffle the horribly loud modem sounds by putting a blanket over my computer so that I could get online without waking my mom up.

Tankies and education will never mix well

I kind of feel bad for the kid, seems like he may be talking about himself when he talks about parents not being around to help with their homework.

[–] Silverseren@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago

Weird to at least partially agree with them. Homework is meant to be busy-work, without it really facilitating any advancement in understanding of the material. I've had many a teacher admit that openly.

They kinda went off the rails with the rest of that though.
