The migration is complete, with many thinks to @rimu@piefed.social there. This community is done but thanks to all the lemm.ee admins for making the last couple of years possible, especially @sunaurus@lemm.ee .

Come share your appreciation for film over there.

weird, if I go to the pefed.social url from op, I see many threads in the community but if I follow that link, the entire community is empty. What's up with that?

A piefed migration allowed the possibility of backing up every post, but it only shows up on the piefed instance itself, the old backed up posts don't federate out.

Had Perish migrated to a Lemmy instance, there would be no backup at all, and we'd have to start from scratch. The only backup of the community would exist as the old posts from lemm.ee that exist on other instances.

Seems like only new posts after you follow show. My feed was empty, i posted on piefed community, now i see the post on lemmy

If I understand correctly, a separate instance newly federating with a community (which requires at least one user from that instance to subscribe to that community) won't see the previous posts made up to that point. Not sure if there's a workaround, but that's the reason for the discrepancy atm.

I wasn't aware of that, thanks. And apparently a post popped up on there just moments a go, so it seems to work, even if older posts don't. Thanks.
