Um, aktuly, this man has over 600 different notifications reminding him to practice a language.

He's clearly a genius.

I'm torn between deleting this asshole's app and continuing to learn Spanish...

There are plenty of other good ways to learn languages!

Learning from another person one on one is probably the best, but that obviously takes a bit more money unless you have a friend who can teach you. You can always take classes too, depending on what's offered where you live. Other than that I'm not familiar with any specifics, but I know there are lots of books you can get to learn from, and probably a number of games also designed for the purpose. Just search around and there's lots to find.

There are plenty other apps as good or better than duolingo that aren't shoving ai everywhere.

I've switched to busu. But that was just one of a few options I saw on a similar post. I don't remember the others since I'm not using them. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And the children of soulless assholes like him need to be around other humans to learn how to socialise

Counterpoint: The reason AI cannot be a better teacher is that it does not and cannot handle the physical "care" part of teaching. You can provide a 5th grader all the material they need to know, but good luck getting them to absorb that, especially if they don't want to learn.
