One of my favorite Jim Carrey stories. Imagine someone hating you so much that they bust out "sanction" and "buffoonery" in the same sentence...

The meaning has shifted to that a looong time ago. Are there seriously people who didn't notice that or is it just a matter of not being able/willing to accept that language is never absolute and changing over time?
It is possible to be aware of something and to come to terms with its inevitability and still not like it one bit.
