Showerthoughts

A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.

Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts:

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. No politics
    • If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as "capitalism" and "communism". If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.
    • A good place for politics is c/politicaldiscussion
  4. Posts must be original/unique
  5. Adhere to Lemmy's Code of Conduct and the TOS

If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.

Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.

That was a bizarre time period. I wonder why moms didn’t start hoarding baby diapers at the time. Can you imagine what happens if the supply chain collapses and you run out of diapers? Having enough toilet paper will be the last of your worries at that time.

Fortunately, all of those fears were unfounded, but they were also directed towards some weird items too. If you want to worry about something, toilet paper isn’t really very high on that list.

Im glad this was not one of those weird items that everyone lost their minds over unnecessarily.

I mean, there were times without these mondern diapers. If you have a baby you will have plenty of different cloths that you can use as a diaper if necessary. Just like your able to get clean down there without TP. Bizzare times indeed.

Random bonus fact: Back then many Babies were potty trained by the time they were one year old just because its more work to diaper your child up with cloth diapers and clean them after use.

Right, you just use, you know, non-disposable diapers in that case.

This was me until very recently. I even gave toilet paper away at work when we were short. Bidet seats for the win.

Oh so clean

Now imagine having to go through a roll a day

Yeah, this is shit, literally.

In my 2 person home, we go through a 12 pack in 2 weeks.

That's seems reasonable to me. It's 6 rolls per one person in 2 weeks. There are times where I think I'd use more, lol.

I started tracking 2 weeks ago for fun. So far its 1 roll in 3 days avg for 2 people using this bathroom.

The result May change if you are using mega rolls or normal ones or w/e else is there.

When some finally got back in stock we got some but it was awful quality. We got some better stuff a little bit later. So we have a box of single ply in our garage still lol. I can't imagine using it now though, probably covered in cobwebs and dust.
