Looks the same but actually the B is silent now.
Think about this level of waste the next time a company does a round of layoffs of people doing actual work.
I'm sure the executives in charge of this decision will try to claim it was their plan all along to change the name then change it back to generate publicity. Obvious bullshit, but executives never take blame for their own mistakes. (Unless they were promised a big payout for publicly taking the blame)
I thought it was odd branding after Cinemax. HBO was synonymous with great television and mini-series. Skinemax had a different association.
Hey, maybe Elon Musk should have focused on cutting waste in the HBO corporation.
AI probably told em to do it
It was pre AI craze. Probably million dollar marketing consultants.
AI could have saved them millions making the same stupid decisions.
Every time I see shit like this I always wonder why they didn't just hire a polling company to check sentiment. There's no fucking way removing HBO from the name would have been the better choice.
I mean, fuck it, have consultant fees contingent on the results of a public polling campaign run by an organization specializing in that showing their recommendation being the better choice.
I'm so tired of seeing shit ideas that you just know a someone was paid hundreds of thousands of millions of dollars to consult on and any random person on the street can see it being a bad idea.
