It looks like someone can just pull this along behind them and it'll pick up the balls and deposit them in the basket.
On the one hand I'm impressed by the engineering, but the other part of me asks is it worth the effort of buying and carrying this device if only collecting a single person's balls. Seems a lot of effort when one could just pick the 10 balls up by hand ..
I know nothing of the topic, but my guess would be the owner of a facility where a lot of balls are lost might buy one of these and employ someone to walk around with it, collecting lots of people's balls. Perhaps even selling their own balls back to them, how emasculating.
When I've been to a driving range there's someone employed with a golf cart who drives around collecting the balls.
I thought this was a personal ball gobbler and based on the original image it seemed rather impractical, but the big sticky arms makes it much more useful.

Well that'll teach me for only looking at the picture. That seems much more efficient.
