An unofficial chapter of the popular Dull Men's Club.
1. Relevant commentary on your own dull life. Posts should be about your own dull, lived experience. This is our most important rule. Direct questions, random thoughts, comment baiting, advice seeking, many uses of "discuss" rarely comply with this rule.
2. Original, Fresh, Meaningful Content.

4. This is not a search engine
Use a search engine, a tradesperson, Reddit, friends, a specialist Facebook group, apps, Wikipedia, an AI chat, a reverse image search etc. to answer simple questions or identify objects. Also see rule 1, “comment baiting”.
There are a number of content specific communities with subject matter experts who can help you.

5. Keep it dull. If it puts us to sleep, it’s on the right track. Examples of likely not dull: jokes, gross stuff (including toes), politics, religion, royalty, illness or injury, killing things for fun, or promotional content. Feel free to post these elsewhere.
6. No hate speech, sexism, or bullying No sexism, hate speech, degrading or excessively foul language, or other harmful language. No othering or dehumanizing of anyone or negativity towards any gender identity.
7. Proofread before posting. Use good grammar and punctuation. Avoid useless phrases. Some examples: - starting a post with "So" - starting a post with pointless phrases, like "I hope this is allowed" or “this is my first post” Only share good quality, cropped images. Do not share screenshots of images; share the original image.

I also read this one in one day the first time I read it. If you enjoy Hemingway, I'd definitely recommend For Whom The Bell Tolls or The Sun Also Rises; but his short fiction is also some of best.
If you don't like Hemingway, I'd probably recommend other authors that aren't him, some of whom I could name.
Basically, reading is awesome.
I have For Whom the Bell Tolls and tried reading it a while back but I could only get about halfway through before I stopped.
At the time I wasn't necessarily in a reading mood so I think it was more that than anything. I hear The Sun Also Rises is more popular so I might give that a try later in the year.
I have East of Eden by Steinbeck on my shelf that I've been wanting to read. That's probably the next fiction that I'll read.
Edit: I was thinking of A Farewell to Arms not The Sun Also Rises.
Terrible book. It's what turned me off of Hemingway, and made me wonder what people see in his writing.

I would love to read this book too. But this is not the dull_men_with_adhd_club so sitting and reading is outside my current skillset.
Have you tried walking and reading?
This sounds both intriguing and terrifyingly dangerous at the same time.

Maybe taking something with stimulants in it, like coffee? Or having some brown/white/green/pink noise audio files playing?
I saw this film when I was a kid and really enjoyed it. I should read the book.
Never knew it was a movie too. Maybe I'll watch it after I finish this book.
I read this on the beach in Cuba a number of years ago. I felt it was appropriate.

Nice! Just briefly for anyone curious, it’s a short story with themes of human perseverance, being old but maintaining fierce tenacity, plus battling vs. nature whilst having lots of respect for it, all in Hemingway’s voice.
I enjoyed it and am glad to have read it.
